June 28, 2010 – Designed Elegance

Kelly from Designed Elegance Custom Invitations & Stationary asked me to photograph her new line of invitations for her new upcoming website.  I could not say no, her invitations are just beautiful, she is in fact designing my wedding invitations also.  I  met Kelly in April 2005, we met at a wedding show, I was the vendor and she was the bride-to-be, her wedding was June 2006… since then she just can’t get away from me! 🙂  We started as most, I photographed their engagement session and then the wedding, then of course her baby bump, and to follow I met their new addition to their family, cute Kherington and well, so on and on.  I was so happy to hear Kelly was joining the wedding world of fun! We have now become great colleagues and even better friends… so with out further ado, I introduce Kelly of Designed Elegance: www.designedeleganceinvitations.com

Here are some samples from our shoot:  some of many many gorgeous invites! can’t wait for her to do mine!

June 19, 2010 – Updates and photos

I know it’s been a while since I’ve blogged.  I’d like to say it’s not my fault cause i’ve been super duper busy but no excuses… Since my last post, I’ve shot more weddings, more Mitzvah’s and have been working at the studio doing different shoots.  I have a crazy busy summer ahead also.  So I will try not to neglect the blog too long.

So what else is going on, well there is 5 1/2 months until my wedding, so besides working, I’m trying to get everything done early so by November it’s smooth sailing before Dec 5… the big day! I’ve been on a very strict diet/work out program.  I’ve lost 12.5 lbs in 6 weeks and have another 17.5, it’s going a lot slower than I thought it would considering I’m doing cardio 6 days a week and weight training twice, once being with a trainer.  I’m just being patient and doing my thing, eating insanely clean and working out, what more can I bring to the table.  I’m happy with the 12.5 lbs… better down than the other way right…

Work related stuff, I’m already booking up for 2011, very exciting… It’s always nice to have bookings already.  Here’s hoping for even a busier year than 2010.  I have set goals for myself, so i’m trying to knock them down as I go.

So, what’s a photographers blog without some photos…. I’ve been shooting quite a bit in the studio this month.  Portraits, Bar Mitzvahs and family photos.  I love my space, it’s really great to have and utilize.  I’m not blogging every photo shot at the studio or event (wedding/Mitzvah) I’ve been working at this month, but thought I’d just share 2 different boys.  Meet Paul and James.  Paul had his Bar Mitzvah in May and the whole family came to the studio for their family portraits.  James, is a 20-month of toddler with lots and lots of energy.  He was running around the studio, having fun, laughing, playing with teddies and with letter blocks.  We had fun.  Here are some photos, and I promise I will blog again soon.

May 6, 2010 – Wincy + Pino e-shoot

I met Wincy + Pino at the Total Wedding Show back in Sept, it’s crazy to think how fast time has gone by already and how close we are to their summer June wedding at Eglinton Grand.  I am so excited to do a wedding there… it’s going to rock.  They have a lot of events up their sleeve, and it will all be captured by Al and I, making great memories for their wedding album.  We did their e-shoot at UofT, can’t go wrong there, the architecture is just breathe-taking, and the models were so funny, I almost forgot I was working cause of all the laughs.  Pino and Wincy were channeling their inner movie stars, playing off zoolander and Marylin Manroe, and jumping into bushes like the pink panther.  We walked around the main square for about an hour to get different looks and backdrops because they are using 2 of the photos as movie posters to be in front of Eglinton Grand, we’re still trying to come up with movie titles for the posters.

May 5, 2010 – Adrianne + Dwights Wedding Sneak Peak

Last Friday (April 30th), Adrianne + Dwight tied the knot at the Rosewater Supper Club in Toronto.   They had an evening ceremony which was just lovely, their vows were perfect, they put smiles on some faces and happy tears in others.   Before the ceremony, we met at the Novotel and did the bridal prep, moving onto the Bride/Groom reveal and then walked the streets of Toronto in wedding gear and all making our way to King Edwards hotel and then to the Rosewater.  Lots and lots of memories, all captured by the click of mine and Als finger. The sneak peaks were hard to narrow down, so I figured I’d just put more than less up.

Can’t beat a face like Dwight’s when he saw Adrianne for the first time, priceless!

May 4, 2010 – Kyle’s Bar Mitzvah

The pins were dropping, the que balls were breaking, feet were stomping and the bubble wrap was popping… did I just say bubble wrap? yes I did….

On April 17th, Kyle had his Bar Mitzvah party at Lucky Strike Bowling Alley… In a word… IT WAS AWESOME! The whole theme was baseball… everyone got baseball jerseys and baseball hats with a custom logo design with Kyle’s initials. Even the onsite printing photobooth background I designed was a baseball card. Very cool!  At the end of the night, the DJ rolled out a huge piece of bubble wrap for everyone to jump on it and pop pop pop to Jump Around from House of Pain music… so fun!

Here are a few photos from the party and also from the synagogue, which I must add he read/sang beautifully.
