The best time to photograph newborns is within the first three weeks of your baby’s arrival. Why? They’re sleepy and still super curly and mouldable, which makes for perfect, safe and sweet little poses. If you’ve missed this window of time, don’t stress – older babies can be accommodated as well. It is best to book this session while you are still pregnant, preferably about a month or two in advance. I do keep myself flexible for newborn arrivals but booking in advance does ensure my availability.
Newborn sessions take place in our warm and cozy studio, which is fully equipped with everything that’s needed for your shoot – props, blankets, and even outfits. If you’d like to incorporate a unique prop or item in your session, please bring it along! The style and theme of your newborn session is something we can start planning early on. I make it a point to design the shoot with your vision in mind to match your home and nursery’s colours and decor.
Prior to your session you will receive a questionnaire that will help me prep the style of the session with your colour choices, home decor and overall style. You will also receive a guide on how you can prepare yourself and your newborn for the session – for example, clothing choices, food aversions, etc.
Throughout the photo session I’ll be working closely with you and your newborn to make sure you get images that best portray the connection between the two of you. During your session, we’ll work together to customize your session to your personal tastes.
And finally, your comfort is my priority. As a certified and insured newborn photographer, you can rest assured that your baby will be in safe hands throughout the entire photo shoot. I’m trained and licensed to handle newborns in a safe manner. To help set the tone for a relaxing and comfortable session, I include complimentary refreshments and snacks in the studio lounge. Since these sessions can take up to four hours, I invite you to make yourself at home!
Maternity sessions are captured between 30 to 35 weeks and run approximately one hour. I recommend that you book your maternity session at least one to two months prior to delivery to ensure that your appointment is confirmed.
Every bump is different and unique, it’s about how you feel and how you feel you look. Partners, siblings and even beloved pets are encouraged to join in on the fun so I can capture the excitement and anticipation of waiting for your new bundle of joy to arrive.
You can choose from three different session styles – in studio, in your home (lifestyle) and on location (outdoors–at a park or beach). I make it a point to design the shoot with your vision in mind to match your home and nursery’s colours and decor.
You can get the most out of your session by pampering yourself! Get your hair and make up done for your session. Our studio will complement your beauty with full wardrobe options for you.
Have you heard of a sitter session? Maybe not, but it’s not one to be missed!
Your babe is growing faster than you can keep track of – so don’t let these moments fly by – capture them. This sweet stage in their life is marked by milestones like sitting unassisted, enjoying tummy time and gummy smiles. You may choose to be included, along with other family members.
These sessions take place at our Newmarket studio and we’re fully equipped with everything you need – outfits, decor, props – you name it!
One year sessions are super fun for everyone! It’s a wonderful time to celebrate your baby’s first birthday. The session is typically one to two hours at my studio and includes up to five sets. Cake smash? This is the perfect, fun and messy way to celebrate the first year.We can even incorporate a super fun splash session after the smash!
The session is typically 90 minutes long and can include parents, family members and siblings.
Looking for something more? Incorporate outfit changes and two set ups with my Signature or Essential Session which can be up to one hour. To help you prepare for your session, a guide will be sent to you with a checklist of items to bring (and help me get those best giggly smiles!).
I have baby friendly soap, and of course lots of wipes, on hand for the clean up!
Updating your family portraits is a great way to capture special moments as you change and grow together over the years. Whether you’re going for a winter wonderland vibe or a rustic, fall-theme, family sessions can be done year-round. I’ve found that generational photography sessions are also a wonderful way of getting the family together for reunions!
A family session typically lasts a couple hours and includes a whole lot of fun and laughs, leaving you with an amazing experience and beautiful portraits to hang, share and enjoy.
Locations can vary from in-studio, at your home or cottage, or at a special location of your choosing.
Coverage for your simcha includes two seasoned photographers to ensure that all aspects of the day are captured. Starting with your service, we are with you from start to finish – along every step of the way to preserve your story as the day unfolds. In advance of the event, I work with you on the timeline that will best utilize everyone’s schedule – providing you with an itinerary that outlines every detail. This includes a photo list of family and when they are scheduled to be photographed.
Approximately eight weeks after your event, your fully edited gallery will be available online for you to download and share with your family and friends! It is then you can make selections of the images you wish to include in your package. If you wish, we can review the images together, so you can order your wall portraits and albums.
Two weeks following your selections, I’ll schedule an appointment to drop off a custom branded USB of all the images, plus a photo box including 100 printed 4×6 photos from the event.
My three step process is geared towards creating a unique experience for clients.
STEP 1: Consultation
First, I meet with you – via phone or at the studio – to learn more about your creative vision, style and what you want to get out of your photography session. During this time, I’ll provide you with details on what to expect from your session, what’s included, wardrobe suggestions and more. We’ll also talk about potential shoot dates, times and locations (if outside the studio). I’d love to give you a studio tour and show you our collection of beautiful props.
STEP 2: Capture Session
Second, I carefully plan and guide you through every step of the way to ensure many special moments are captured during your session. I take pride in making our sessions a relaxing and comfortable experience without a time limit (refreshments included!).
STEP 3: Review & Order
Finally, we review the images together and I help you through the process of ordering printed artwork, albums and digital files – whether it’s a package of your choice or you create your own. This typically takes place about one to two weeks after your session – either at the studio or from the comfort of your home. During this time, you’ll make your selections – through a narrowing process where you highlight your favourites – and then I place your order.
I highly recommend that all decision makers attend the appointment.
